Frequently asked questions

As a small business, I pride myself on attention to small details. I hope that this page can resolve any questions you may have.

What are your prices?

I am unable to provide a true price for anything until I am aware of all details, it would only be unfair. If you are interested in a quote, please feel free to email me and we can discuss it further! From my first visit I will be able to give an estimate, and moving forwards after the project has been planned, an accurate quote.

Who will supply the materials?

I will source and supply all materials, allowing you to decide your preferences and likes.

Where are you based?

I am based in Cambridge and happy to travel a 40 mile radius around. This would include places such as Huntingdon, Royston, Sawston, Petebrorough, Ely, Newmarket and so on.

What is your experience?

I have done two years as a student studying the trade work, while also working part-time as a carpenter on site during my studies in order to learn theory, and then bring my learning into reality at work. Shortly after I completed my studies, I became a full-time worker for Cambridge Garden Offices where I have progressed in skill and knowledge over the past few years. I have also gained experience in this trade personally, as it is not only a working job, but a passion for me. I have custom-built my own furniture, and converted my own van for dual use of work/camping, I have attended workshops for my own enjoyment and progression. I am always looking for a new lesson.

When are you available to work?

Due to being occupied with a full-time job in the trade, I am available for easy repairs and maintence during evenings for the weekdays and anytime on the weekends. However, if your project is larger than just that, please contact me and we will work together to schedule it suitable to your time preferences.

Can I stay inside/leave the house while you work?

Yes absolutely you can, I will only take the space required for the job and won't be affected by whether you are home or not. Sometimes trade work can get very noisy, so leaving for a while is completely understable, even though I will do my best to considerate of everyone's ears!

When do you expect payment?

The best way to go about this is that materials will need to be pre-payed for the job, labour costs will be invoiced at the end of the job. However, I will have a quote for the entire job for you which will be the total end cost, before starting the project, so there are no shocks for anyone.

Where are you going to park?

If driveway space is available that is ideal for me, if not, I will always find a spot somewhere!
